How much rain in Eastern PA this Saturday?

If you haven't already heard, there's much needed rain moving into the area late Friday-early Saturday morning. As of now, there's agreement on the start time. Both the EURO and GFS start the rain after 12am Saturday morning. So if you're heading to a football game Friday evening, it's looking DRY at this point.

How much rain are we expecting?

Personally, I'm favoring the EURO. The rain will be associated with a strong cold front moving through the area. Our highs on Saturday will top out in the low to mid 60's. However, those highs will occur in the morning hours. With that said, I don't feel like the GFS is handling the cold front very well. It's dropping too much QPF (rain) and brings in too much cold air behind the front.

Rain will wrap up late morning-early afternoon Saturday. Rain totals will range from 0.25" to 0.75" across Eastern Pennsylvania. Isolated amounts of up to 1" are possible in heavier downpours.

Below is the 0z EURO. This should give you a general idea of where temps will bottom out by early Sunday morning. Temps might end up a little cooler than this, but not by much.

Highs on Sunday will struggle to reach 60 degrees. The majority of us will stay in the 50's. Big difference from last Sunday when we were all in the low 80's!
